Assistant City Manager, Sylvia C. Treviño

Sylvia C. Treviño is a graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Public Administration. She received her Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation in 2007. She is also a 2011 graduate of Leadership ICMA.

Mrs.Treviño has worked in the public sector over nineteen (19) years. She began her career in municipal government with the City of Corpus Christi where she served as a Graduate Intern and ultimately as Assistant Director of Development Services.

Mrs. Treviño served as City Manager for the City of Aransas Pass from January of 2013 until 2017. During her tenure, the City’s bond rating improved to AA‐, the tax rate remained constant over four (4) years, and numerous capital improvement projects began.

In 2009, Mrs. Treviño received the Dr. Cleo Community Leadership Award from the American GI Forum. In 2014, she received the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce Leadership Award. In 2016, she was honored by the Caller-Times during Hispanic Heritage Month.

She has led educational sessions at the National American Planning Association and International City/County Management Association. She has served on numerous boards and commissions including Westside Business Association, San Patricio Economic Development Corporation, and the 2016 ICMA Conference Planning Committee.

In March of 2017, Mrs. Treviño joined the City of Corpus Christi as an Assistant City Manager.

Mrs. Treviño and her husband Robert have two daughters and a grandson. In her spare time, she enjoys beach combing, boating, and fishing.
