Persons with disabilities, who require additional assistance or a reasonable accommodation request regarding City services, programs, activities, and facilities, should contact Human Relations. Contact the City’s ADA Coordinator at least 48 hours in advance for assistance by calling (361) 826-3190.                

The Trash and Recycle Pick-Up Service (TARPS) provides a reasonable accommodation to assist individuals who have a temporary/permanent disability or medical condition which prohibits them from pulling or pushing the garbage/recycling cart(s) to the curb on their designated pick-up days. Individuals must not have anyone in their home who can provide this assistance. Call (361) 826-3190 for more information.

Final Code of Ordinance, Discrimination Against Individuals with Disabilities

The City of Corpus Christi Committee for Persons with Disabilities, a City advisory board, recommended to City Council a non-discrimination ordinance which would amend the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, Chapter 24, Human Relations, by adding Article V, Discrimination Against Individuals with Disabilities, establishing procedure and implementation; providing publication; providing for severance; and providing for penalties. The committee held a series of public meetings on the proposed ordinance.

The Committee for Persons with Disabilities requested City Council consideration of their proposed non-discrimination ordinance to ensure persons with disabilities have accessibility to facilities, services, activities, and programs by the City and its contractors.

Place of Public Accommodations

The City’s Human Relations Ordinance - Chapter 24, Article II, as amended, prohibits Discrimination in a Place of Public Accommodation. The ordinance makes it unlawful for any place of business to deny access to goods and services on the basis of a person’s race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
